Spring Break: Registration opens on January 12, 2026
SPRING CAMP: PLANT POWER!
Campers will explore the powerful world of plants through inquiry and experimentation. Campers will actively engage with the farm, investigating how plants are used in art, design, medicine, and beyond! Campers should show up curious, ready to learn and have fun, and expect to get their hands (and feet and knees!) dirty.
March 23–27 | 2nd – 5th grade | $350/student
Summer: Registration opens on February 16, 2026
SUMMER: PLANT TO PLATE
Explore the journey of a seed, from the moment it’s planted in the ground to the minute it enters your kitchen as a fruit or vegetable! Campers will learn gardening skills, like sowing and harvesting, as they care for the crops on the Teaching Farm while also building culinary skills by creating fun, seasonal snacks in the Culinary Studio each day.
June 1–5 | rising 2nd – 5th grade | $350/student
SUMMER: KITCHEN CHAMPS
Let’s get creative in the kitchen! Have you ever wanted to make your own ranch dressing or made veggie pasta from scratch? Campers will be encouraged to expand their curiosity by taking items normally seen in their kitchens and giving them a new spin.
June 8–12 | rising 2nd – 5th grade | $350/student
SUMMER: GROWING FORWARD
Campers will dive into farming, art, engineering, and environmental stewardship through hands-on activities. They’ll learn sustainable growing, composting, and eco-friendly habits while turning their love of nature into creative projects.

SUMMER: CULINARY MASTERS
Let’s level up in the kitchen! Have you ever wanted to craft your own ranch dressing from scratch or transform fresh vegetables into handmade pasta? In this session, campers will push their culinary curiosity further by experimenting with techniques, flavors, and ingredients they’ve seen a hundred times, but never like this. Together, we’ll explore how to rethink everyday kitchen staples and turn them into creative, skill-building dishes worthy of a young chef.
July 13–17 | rising 6th – 8th grade | $350/student

Scholarships for all Camp Grow sessions are awarded based on need and availability. Please remember that submitting a scholarship application does not guarantee financial assistance. Scholarships may be applied to two Camp Grow sessions (i.e you can use your scholarship code for spring break and one summer session or you can use your scholarship code for two summer sessions). Cancellations and Refunds: If you choose to cancel your registration, you must notify Jones Valley Teaching Farm in writing/email no later than two weeks prior to the first day of camp in order to qualify for a partial refund. Jones Valley Teaching Farm reserves the right to cancel camps that do not meet minimum enrollment or that cannot proceed because of health or safety concerns. If a camp is canceled by Jones Valley Teaching Farm, a full refund will be returned to the registrant.
Camp Begins: 9:00 a.m.
Camp Ends: 4:00 p.m.
Extended Care will be offered daily at the start and end of camp for an additional fee of $50. Extended Care hours will be 8–9 a.m. and 4–5 p.m.
Drop-off and pick-up will be located at the Center for Food Education, 701 25th St N, Birmingham, AL 35203. There will be a $15 charge for every 15 minutes your camper stays past 5:00 p.m.
Daily snacks and a nutritious lunch are included as a part of your student’s registration package. Lunch will be served from 12 p.m. to 12:45 p.m.
If you have additional concerns regarding dietary needs, you may send lunch with your student; however, no refund or discount will be given.
Please remember to list ANY AND ALL ALLERGENS on the Medical Form completed during registration.
