In 2019, Jones Valley Teaching Farm recruited Gather hosts for two separate weekends during the summer. Hosts coordinated a dinner of their own design and invited their friends to gather with them around a table to celebrate and support Jones Valley Teaching Farm’s Good School Food program. Our final Gather weekend of 2019 took place July 19th-21st! We are grateful for everyone who participated this year as well as Shipt and Cathead Vodka who donated supplies for each dinner.
Multiple couples teamed up to host a “Mediterranean Paella” themed Gather. Host Will McGarity said, “This was our first gather dinner and we had a blast. It’s hard not to enjoy yourself at an event connected with JVTF!”
The Cornelius House hosted a dinner featuring Chef Rishon Hanners prepared delicious and beautifully styled dishes, including, peach toast, tomato pie, peach & pickled fig cobbler, and more!
After hosting, Cece Lacey said, “I would say our favorite part about hosting was getting to do something we love to help support an organization we love – cooking, eating, and drinking with great friends while benefiting JVTF! While we do love to cook for a crowd this was by far the most people we had cooked for which was easy to see because instead of having days worth of leftovers we just barely had enough food for everyone! That was definitely a surprise, but worked out just fine in the end. We cannot wait to host again!”
