Description 

In partnership with the Director of Development and Communications, the Development and Communications Manager assists in the execution of JVTF’s fundraising and communications strategies. The Development and Communications Manager’s key responsibilities include: drafting grant applications, reports, and press releases; tracking grant and report deadlines; managing JVTF’s donor database and acknowledgment processes; and assisting with fundraising events. As a member of the Senior Management Team, provide support and implementation of JVTF’s organizational strategy.

This work requires a passion for Jones Valley Teaching Farm’s mission, self-direction and motivation, a high degree of professionalism, attention to detail, and strong writing, organizational, and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Development

  • Work directly with the Dir. of Development and Communications to meet annual and multi-year fundraising goals that support JVTF’s strategic plan and goals. The FY 2023 fundraising goal for JVTF is $3mm.
  • Assist with the grant management process, including writing, reviewing, reporting, and tracking grant applications and reports.
  • Manage JVTF’s donor software system (Bloomerang).
  • Create donor and giving reports and meet regularly with the Dir. of Development and Communications to evaluate, plan, and apply for funding opportunities throughout the year.
  • Conduct research on new revenue streams and strategies at the local, state, and national levels.
  • Manage donor and partner relationships in collaboration with the Executive Director and Dir. of Development and Communications.
  • Support the Dir. of Development and Communications with the planning and execution of fundraising events.
  • Execute end-of-year Power of Food online giving campaign.

Communications

  • Support communications for development and program needs by drafting press releases, and editing and creating content for external audiences.
  • Creating and executing social media updates and campaigns.
  • Represent JVTF in front of various audiences including donors, program partners, and community members.s identified as needed by the employee and approved and/or assigned by the Executive Director.

Duration and Compensation

This is a year-round, full-time position with a 3-month probation period. Competitive compensation package includes:

  • Compensation Range $51k-59k
